DOT only shows statistics that prove the points they want to prove. Yesterday, they had a press conference to show the "success" of the bike lanes. They said the number of regular cyclists tripled since 1990 when they started adding bike lanes. First of all,,who uses 26 years as a study period? Second not a word was said about the injury rate to cyclists in 1990 as compared today. Isn't that important too? So those statistics they hide because I would venture to guess that there are many more injuries to cyclists as well today than there were 26 years ago. It is called lying with statistics.
