The pedestrians who cross at red signals are not putting others at danger.In driver's ed they showed a video which essentially illustrated that the proper course of action, if swerving would be more dangerous (i.e. there is a school bus or hazmat vehicle that would have to react to your swerve), is to use the brakes as best as possible and if you still hit the pedestrian who can't tell red from green, well, can't be helped (this was illustrated by a cartoony red splot on the pavement). I appreciated that. |
