Two extra minutes in traffic on Woodhaven? Guess you haven't checked out DOT's latest report on the results from their newly installed bus lanes north of Metropolitan. It shows average traffic speeds dropped from 19.5 to 12 mph during the AM peak northbound, a 38 percent decrease.

Which is 1.38 extra minutes in traffic over the area studied, Furmanville Avenue to Metropolitan Avenue. Extrapolated over the length of the bus lanes, it's a whopping three minutes. And that's without traffic signal improvements.

It shows that bus speeds also declined slightly since the lanes were installed.

Due to cars in the bus lane, according to Slide 44.
