Only ten years late and at three times the cost. For what was spent on it, another tunnel could have been built extending southwards into Lower Manhattan and under the East River to connect it with the Atlantic Avenue line in Brooklyn."East Side Abscess" therefore is a perfect sobriquet for it. We could have had SAS to Staten Island instead, for example. |
