Metro North refused to let LIRR do that. Three lines really do need 40+ tracks [/sarcasm]. (In all seriousness I think the real impact would have been more on the unexpandable four track Park Ave Tunnel).

In some way I think LIRR fighting Metro-North on slots for PSA is revenge for that.
