That’s the problem with the way the way the MTA was set up. Instead of a separate LIRR and M/N there should be one MTA Commuter Rail with absolute authority over all NYC area commuter operations that were former LIRR, NYC and NHRR with the various subdivisions and when it came time for LIRR access to GCT it could have been done without any resistance whatsoever. |
