I sympathize with the County Clerk who is being ordered to take actions under the law of the land that conflict with her religious and moral beliefs. It's not a pleasant position to be in. I've had relatives who were in the same position when there was far more at stake.

But there's only one reasonable ethical answer: YOU QUIT YOUR JOB.
