We say this every year, but it bears repeating- loss of the Myrtle Ave Line was a major blow - the service was necessary, and I'm sure it would be popular today. A really dumb move.

As I understand it from some articles I've found since last year, there actually was opposition to the closure, and even a push to re-open the line during the interval between the closure and the start of demolition. Alas, these protests and effort were ineffective.
