The point of the Myrtle Av el is to get people to downtown Brooklyn from Ridgewood and Bushwick, a void not filled by the A & C train, and rather ridiculous to take the Broadway el & F and cross the East River twice.

There is no reason to send it to Manhattan. The Manhattan-centric attitude by Dr. Ronan is why it was ripped down.
