I see why you don't want to disturb that:

Idea would be to connect the line if it were rebuilt at the current (R) station at Jay-Metrotech, which would make it much more viable (the line could underground sooner than Navy Street going south/railroad north if need be). Sure, you might have to disturb the trees, but that can be re-done after such work to connect a re-built Myrtle Line to the Montague line is complete.
