A brief study of the last remaining section of the Fulton St. el that stood until the line's reconstruction.
Franklin Ave, looking toward Fulton St. Any input about those closed stairways ? Sept. 1980

Same as above image although upstairs. Don't know about this closed off area.
Did it lead to a stairway that was removed years ago ? Oct. 17, 1981

This building must be from the old Kings County RR days, but still survived after the rest of the el was demolished. Oct. 17, 1981

Now it gets interesting. The thinner girders in the back are what's left of the Brighton-Franklin connection.
Edward Luciano's train traveled over those girders and the Malbone St. wreck became infamous. Oct. 17, 1981

Another view of that building atop remnant of the Fulton St el. Notice the detail in the woodwork.
This staircase was from the Fulton St. el and remained until the structure was razed.
I was told that the reason for not demolishing this structure was for passengers leaving
the Brighton-Franklin line could access the IND subway inbound station without crossing Fulton St. Oct. 17, 1981
