It would have been interesting if the Fulton El survived. They could have put the switches to the Brighton line back in for partial service (specials, alternate routing, etc.). Plus, Atlantic Ave and Bway Junction would've been hopping even more than now, and Atlantic would not have been cut down! However, the non-existence of the Fulton St. subway would be a pretty high price, and the congestion at DeKalb would be a pretty severe bottleneck for southern Brooklyn service. It might even have resulted in another south Brooklyn route being "taken" by an IND connection, or even the Fulton el itself.
