Like you can't figure it out from logic?

Lets see, Current M riders looking for midtown will stay on the V while J riders looking for midtown, especially if they know the V skips 2nd Avenue will likely just stay on the platform at Essex and take the V there.

Those two actions by themselves take pressure off the F, as passengers who previously walked downstairs to get the F at Essex-Delancey will no longer need to do so.
