Wayne Transit Center to serve Boonton Line in January

NJ TRANSIT’s new Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center will open on Saturday, January 12, providing more than 1,000 parking spaces, heated shelters, electronic bus departure screens and bus service seven days a week. On weekdays, the new facility also will be served by trains on the Montclair-Boonton Line, offering customers a new level of travel flexibility.

In addition, a new bus route, No. 324 (Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center – New York Express), has been created to provide frequent express service between the new facility and the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Complete information will be available in new timetables.

Rail Service at Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center

Select trains on the Montclair-Boonton Line will begin serving Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center on Monday, January 14. Mountain View Station will remain open.

Mothers Park & Ride

Mothers Park & Ride (located one mile north of the new facility) will remain open with weekday-only bus service and new hours of operation. Effective Monday, January 14, the new hours for New York bus departures will be 7:30 – 9:30 AM. Customers traveling after this time should use the new Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center or Willowbrook Park & Ride. Return service to Mothers will be available throughout the day via Bus No. 194 and No. 324.

Willowbrook Park & Ride

With the opening of the new Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center, the Willowbrook Park & Ride will become a weekday-only operation. Park & Ride customers traveling to/from New York on weekends should use the new Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center. The Willowbrook Shoppers’ Stop will continue to be served seven days a week.

Parking Information

Parking fees at the new facility, Mothers and Willowbrook are waived for an introductory period until March 1, 2008. Customers may park in any available space. More information will be available soon.
