I know, but I don't think electrification of the Boonton line is even worthwhile. Electrification (and a proper storage yard) to Port Morris would make more sense, especially if in the FAR, FAR future they decide that they need to electrify the new Lackawanna cutoff route. Port Morris is in the middle of nowhere, has plenty of room for storage tracks AND a substation and already has an NJT employee facility (for crews working trains terminating anywhere from Dover west). |
