The electric motors still out-accelerate the diesels, so average speeds would riseAnything to improve acceleration would help given the somewhat frequent station stops on the lower part of the line, and the periodic speed changes due to the drawbridges. If NJT could sprinkle some capital funds for higher speed drawbridges too... |
