Posted by andy on Fri Oct 14 18:46:57 2016 From Washington DC Patch:WASHINGTON, DC — National League Division Series, Game 5: the Washington Nationals are trying to battle back at Nats Park to win the series and head to Chicago for a chance at the World Series, and fans are starting to stream for the exits. Why? Because the stadium announced that the last Metro train was about to leave. "Nats' fans are streaming out of the stadium to catch the last Metro," tweeted New York Times columnist Juliet Macur at 11:10 p.m. Thursday, when the game was still an hour from being over. Subscribe In the past, Metro has extended its hours for late Nationals, Capitals or Wizards games -- but no more. Metro decided earlier this year that it would be moving up its closing time to midnight, and it would no longer offer those extended hours. Nats fans certainly weren't happy with this new reality, chanting "Metro sucks" after the announcement went out over the loudspeaker. Unfortunate story. Can you imagine that in NY at any one of the major stadium venues? Thank goodness, no. But Metro won't have this issue again because LA won the game. |
