MLB's been in bed with network TV. For decades. Remember when NBC had the playoffs and/or World series? Games would start at 8:00 PM (Eastern). To make money.Except on Thursdays. Then the game would start no earlier than 8:30 PM. Why? Because of Cosby. That's right. He may be disgraced now, but then his show was the #1 program. Not just on NBC but for the entire broadcast nation. And NBC was in no way going to preempt its #1 show just for baseball. Even it was the World Series. |
