The IC Electric, to me, was the gold standard of commuter operations; fast, punctual, frequent, rush hour "specials" skipping local stops, high level platforms, sliding doors. They were just the best.Sadly, Metra trains on the same tracks today from my grandfather's 'hood are few and slower. |
