All very good points. Had the IND not been merely creating parallel lines to compete w/existing lines, much more could've been done especially to branch out in areas that are either underserved or have no alternatives other than the bus/car. But in the end for Midtown I can't vision only the BMT/IRT alone handling all the riders w/out the 6th and 8th Av lines. So on that count the IND is very good there.

I wished the IND had build a 2nd crosstown line down via Woodhaven Blvd as that would greatly help interborough travel and reduce the need from using just buses or going to Broadway Junction or Sutphin to transfer back from Queens to Brooklyn [etc].

Although some are opposed to the Concourse line just tied to the SAS. Suppose costs for the 3rd Av segment becomes too costly then maybe such a connection should be made as then you would have an SAS line that is nearly parallel to the 4 and could ease the strain on the 4 line.

Although the 6th Av express is a seperate segment [express-Bronx vs local-Queens] of the entire 6th Av line, surely that could've been built after they built the UES segment of the SAS 1st and just run the B/D/F trains all via the local tracks. IMO.
