Originally operated by the New Haven RR. Went from 133rd St. Station of the New Haven and New York Westchester and Back RR's, The Bronx to 129 th St. 2nd and 3rd Ave. Els in Manhattan. The shuttle was later taken over by the IRT. New car deliveries for the subway and el cars and old car disposals were operated over the line. A section of the elevated ramp on the Bronx side in the NH yard remained well into the 60's and was used as a coal hopper delivery tipple. |
