Bronx Boy, I recall in a post of yours to Joe F. you mentioned seeing two of maybe the last Hi-V's on TA property at 207th (?) and added a comment about how their operation might have been a problem for the TA re: section breaks, on upgraded (signals & third rails) ROWs.

I'd read about section break signals in an old IRT mimeo'd. operations manual I photocopied, but still don't understand them completely - power in a train's motors could electrify another section of the third rail if the train was between two sections, hence section break signals right? This was due to Hi-V's full voltage trainline? Could you please explain further? Thanks!
