Bronxboy, was the whole 159th St yard taken down when they started the Colonial Park (Wrangel) Houses in 1947-8? or, had some of it been dismantled during the war? I know that Robert Moses stopped the removal (by crane) of the remaining unwanted el cars there in 1942, until he was stopped by the War Production Board. Don't know what happened after that! |
