It depends how careful she was. I know people who have affairs that do not leave any type of electronic trail at all. If they must talk on the cell phone, it's all on throwaways.

And again, her being a cop has nothing to do with this.

Stop making me laugh! If you feel like your life is in danger, having one day of training, or two decades of training doesn't make a lick of difference. By the way, at least in New York City, most police agencies, when you advance in your career, you have several weeks, sometimes months of training each and every year. It doesn't end at the Academy. I know where I was in my career, I had training annually several times a year, in fact lots of courses were college credits.

Guyger being a cop has EVERYTHING to do with this, since it was her defense that she was acting as a police officer, who had (erroneously) caught a burglar in her own living room. Her role as a police officer is at the heart of the case.

Haven't myself, and other post is here, already dispensed with that Postal Inspector angle? Just so you know, the Postal Inspector isn't let in the loop for lots of actions which go on. In fact, the less people that know about it, the better. When you have a heavy search warrant, you don't even let your co-workers know about it unless you a part of the field team. And I love how you push your opinions as fact. I lived it, I walked the walk, you just talked the talk. That's the difference between me and you.

i don't understand how you feel the need to ask that question. only way to answer it is, let someone fire a taser at you. then you will be in a better frame of mind to answer your own question. put it on a video; let everyone see how you react to hqving a taser shoot electricity into you.

the rest of understand that throwing, say, a pillow at a police officer is a form of assault on an officer. as is spitting on an officer.

If you feel like your life is in danger, having one day of training, or two decades of training doesn't make a lick of difference.

The purpose of the training should be to make you overcome one's reflexive fear that one's life is in imminent danger at every single provocation.

most police agencies, when you advance in your career, you have several weeks, sometimes months of training each and every year.

1. If bad habits are taught initially, then reinforcing them with additional training won't cure those bad habits.

2. From a quantitative perspective, Norway's police undergo 3 years or 156 weeks of training before they start full time. NYPD's initial 19 weeks leaves a deficit of 137 weeks. It would take 20 years of 6 week refreshers to match what the Norway policeman starts with.

But one's life is NOT in danger at every single provocation, which is why there aren't, in New York City alone, about a thousand people shot a day by the police, which would happen if that was true.

Bad habits are not taught at any police academy or federal law enforcement Academy in the United States. I don't know where you get that malarkey from?

Also, you are not mentioning the fact that the average police, irrespective of Department, that work in the New York City area, see more action in a year, than those Norwegians typically do in their entire career. You cannot compare the two.

Minority neighborhoods historically get reduced city services, tend not to have good schools (teachers don't want to be assigned there, so these schools become punitive transfer sites), and have lower tax bases, so they don't have the kind of political pull that places like the UES do. Because housing projects are overwhelmingly located in minority-majority neighborhoods (the Pomonok Houses in Flushing and the Lincoln Houses next to the Met are exceptions), these areas also get short shrift in things like street maintenance and urban planning. This is just a small set of examples.

I'm suggesting that 33.5/10M citizens killed is excessive and unacceptable. This is especially true because the US crime rate is also among the highest, excluding armed insurrections.

Most countries are less than 5/10M. Countries with the lowest number of citizens killed per capita are those whose police are not armed. Police training in these countries emphasizes how to control situations without using guns.

Even with armed insurrections, Home Secretary Winston Churchill was famous for diffusing the Sydney Street siege without guns.

What about the idea that this death rate is because the US crime rate is so high? Indirectly, if the crime rate is so high, we can't not have unarmed police and thus the rate of police killing of civilians is an unavoidable consequence.

NOTE: I don't think that more law enforcement is going to solve a high crime rate.

Given the extraordinary high number of citizens killed by the police, perhaps it's time to examine what's "justified."

Could situations have been diffused? If so, should such situations that were not diffused and resulted in a killing be classified as "justified."
