That's probably about right. In today's environment, I imagine the cost of producing $2 bills isn't significantly different from zero since there are so few in circulation.

If you eliminate the $1 bill and compensate by printing 1/2 as many $2 bills per year I doubt the savings proposition is nearly as compelling than if you eliminated the $1 bill and minted $1 and $2 coins.
