The Altima is assembled at the Nissan plant in Smyrna, Tennessee by American labor.

Most Japanese cars sold in the US are built here and have been for some time. Many Hondas are assembled in Maryland and Toyotas are built in California, IIRC. By contrast, many GM cars are actually assembled in Canada!

I had a '94 Altima that was also built here. My '87 Stanza, which the Altima replaced, was built in Japan. Both were good cars but the Stanza was a better built vehicle.
