Yes, the RAV4 is growing out of that segment, but I'm sure Toyota is not abandoning the compact SUV market. I wouldn't be at all suprised if another srpings up at their Scion division. One could argue that the Scion xB may already serves that purpose.

Toyota's introducing another SUV in a few months. It'll then have six SUV's in the U.S. market, excluding Scion and Lexus but including the rarely seen Land Cruiser. The new model, the FJ40, will be a rugged vehicle designed for heavy off-road use, an obvious competitor for the Jeep Wrangler. It's supposed to start around $25K, though given way Toyota dealers love to price-gouge it'll surely cost you a lot more to snag one.
