I never liked station wagons, but I did get great fun out of watching one blow my friend's door off. At the time he had a '92 Nissan Stanza XE with a 5-speed manual and it was pretty quick. Well one day we were in his car and he pointed at a Roadmaster to make fun of it. Well... I guess the guy in the Roadmaster saw him pointing (and laughing) and then the challenge was on. I warned my friend that the Roadmaster had the LT1 V-8 and it was a fast car, but obviously he didn't heed my warning. So, my friend downshifted to go faster and then all of a sudden I heard the roar of that V-8 and just like that we were watching that guys dual exhausts get smaller. |
