I know of metal contracting and expanding due to heat, that does not have the effect of fatigue like flexing does. Fatigue tends to occur at the corner points of metal, not in the center, that is why airplane windoes are round, not square, because they will be points of fatigue if they were square points. Forces of stopping and starting cause little fatigue, trivial fatigue, if any, and does not justify dumping these cars to the ocean. Mind you some railcars were in service for over 50 to 60 years, and there has never been an incident of a train crumbling to pieces, falling apart due to frame or body fatigue. Now the axles, and trucks and bolsters, THOSE are points of high stress, where fatigue can occur. Note that some of the current SMEE trucks are over 50 years old as well, and still rolling on the rails. Stop making guesses and assumptions, you arrogant guy. Know what is and what isn't this is done by reading facts.
