I know of frame fatiue as well, but it is not a problem on rigid subway cars, only the bolster areas. A well designed, balanced frame and structure will have minimal fatigue effects, and wear will be concentrated on replaceable parts like wheels and axles. You gotta think more.

Guy, i like both systems too. I do not obsess over PATH. It should be expanded, yes, particularly in new jersey.

Oh, and guy, mark my words, one day, i WILL call the shots on the PATH system, and even on the MTA system, and i will provide the greatest transit services ever, on good rolling stock with good comforts and all. I will also build new, and EXCELLENT transit systems, and help education and healthcare along the way, as well as protect mother nature. I will do all of this once i get "some grips on some reins", my particular plans to get some grips are secret, because i don't want to blow it, but i will do it. PS, all those perverted, and idiotic managers will no longer have their useless jobs. It won't cost 100 million dollars to construct a one mile rail section, and it won't take ten years to build a stubway(second ave).
