"i am thinking of a SMEE type system which works with AC motors, rather than DC"There was a train of R38's which had Alternating Current (which does not have these motors anymore). It was the R-38 GEC Alsthom (GATI) Test train The car numbers were 4040 4041 4042 4043 4044 4045 4046 4047. This train could NOT be mixed with any other equipment. Also, there was a REGEN circuit breaker added in the cabs, and what that did was it allowed energy to be returned back into the third rail. If you can somehow do this to other SMEE equipment, I would be impressed. |
