No. On the train in question, there are probably about 30 people actually on the train (of the three prior stations -- two of them are the lowest ridership stations in all of electrified territory, Inwood and Far Rockaway). 50 people on the platform and a handful of people stuck on the wrong side of the gates.All of them are going to wait 5 full minutes at Jamaica anyway for the connecting train. If the train crew notices people stranded on the other side of the gates by the east (west/south) bound train, why not wait a minute at Cedarhurst until the other train clears and the people can cross legally/safely. |
