It's a real mystery.Sadly, the one way to help an area remain poor even if by all rights it should be wealthy is to build public housing projects there. Consider Harlem and the South Bronx. Prices are way up, which is understandable since the commute to midtown is much better than, say, from Forest Hills. Except: where you are in close proximity to public housing. |
