No.
The tunnels have bellmouths on Both ends of the stations, that veer over to what would be the "express-local" configuration.

The current express tracks would translation over to what would be the former local platform, now New Express Platform... while the locals are routed to the new local platform/trackways.

Woodhaven Blvd is now an All Stop station.
Leaving, the trains repeat, moving over to the usual alignment ,but now with the option becoming either exp or local...RBB,JAMCTR,or HILLSIDE via crossovers.

Manhattan bound, same set up, local or exp, to three East River crossings.

I'd say,it's pretty cool when you think about it,but for most parts...it will kill one of the best express runs ever in the system.

Nope.
Won't cover the locals trackways.
Express will move to the local, to facilitate new crossovers.

I believe the trackways are in place at Woodhaven Blvd, no tracks but essentially it would be a matter of taking down the wall to expose the trackway, similar to 63/Lex.

Once local trains begin using the new trackways, the extension of the platforms over the defunct ex-local tracks to the express tracks should be a relatively easy thing to accomplish.

The problem with that is the G provides no direct service to Manhattan and would require a change to one of the Manhattan bound services somewhere along the route whereas the M and R although both are locals provide one seat service for Rockaway passengers.

Maybe the building has an Easement with the City/MTA allowing for the use of that portion of the right-away as part of a parking lot. If so, hopefully the Easement contains a clause that allows for the City/MTA to rescind it with proper notification.

It would make no sense to divert the exp tks out to the lcl trackways. Considering the volume of passengers in Queens, having the lcl tks placed behind the wall with super wide island platforms would make sense.

Read my post. Making a hard rail connection from the present exp tks to the lcl trackways would require exp trains to slow down more than necessary so covering the lcl tks would make the most sense.

Although I agree with you since when I was a M/M we were allowed to key by without permission, the union would probably not allow it. Despite the fact that the union touts the gravity of responsibility of the T/Os it seems perfectly content to let the job be dumbed down eliminating employee accountability in the event anything should go wrong. Although many people don’t know it, the positioning the insulated rail joint adjacent to the signal so that if a train was moving slowly enough it doesn’t actually have to stop for the stop arm to go down. Also the M/M keying by were required to proceed with restricted speed and extreme caution (which functionally is no more than 10 MPH) prepared to stop within range of vision (which has been modified to half the range of vision). Unfortunately many old time M/M would get overconfident and either not come to a complete stop at all or even if they did, proceed too fast causing collisions which is why the rule was modified to require command center (now RCC) permission to key by. A couple of inexpensive measures could have been taken to avoid imposing the new rule. One would be to install manual release levers at the signals like the BMT (K) signals requiring the T/O activate the lever to drive the stop arm down which would definitely mean the train would have to make a full stop. The other would hav been to install a time relay in the stop arm mechanism that would put a 15 to 20 second delay before the stop arm would go down, also insuring the train would have to come top a complete stop. Typical of the TA’s knee jerk style of reacting the agency decided to ban keying by without permission entirely.

High speed "hard rail" connecting (up to 60mph) crossings exist on many commuter railroads nowadays. Why can't the subway install high speed crossings at certain locations on the QB line that would eliminate the need to slow down exp trains?

They'd need to knock out more columns, might need to do some structural work above the trackway to accomplish that. If there's not enough vertical clearance it would make it pretty expensive.

That said, there's no excuse for slow crossings on surface, open cut, viaduct or els.

Wne the (E) stood alone (before the (F) could be. There was one lion running on that line.

Once the (F) started runnng this created a merge/diverge coindition and that forced the trains to wait for each other.

Adding the (EE) created more merge/diverge locations and slowed it down even moar.

Each time you zdd a new routing you delat the trains.

WHY DO YOU THINK THAT THE LION IS SO HOT to tame the Broadway BMT?

(RR) is the ONLY local running Astoria to Ft. Hamilton, (NO SWITCHES) IT runs via the 60th Street Tunnel and the Montague Tunnel and is the ONLY service on this route.

(Q) 96th Street to Coney Island via Brighton LCL via Bway Exp, 63rd
street, and Bridge.

(N) 169th to bway exp via 63rd Street Via Bridge to Coney Island Vai Sea Beach

KEEPS the Merges to a MINNIMUM

(E) to 8th Avenue via 53rd Street
(F) to 6th Avenue via 63rd Street
(M) Continental to Metropolitan via 6th Ave

UNTAN GLE the ROUTES to make the subways run faster.

IT BOILS DCOWN tio this:

Doy you want faster service
Or do you want one seat rides

YOU CANNOT HAVE BOTH

Damn few non-supermarket butchers anywhere in the state.
