Posted by tunnelrat on Sat Oct 12 08:00:42 2019, in response to Re: Study of old Rockaway rail line’s revival back on track, posted by Bill Newkirk on Wed Oct 9 19:05:06 2019. tunnlrat has been in the underjump.it is within the confines of the 4 track ROW.it extends AS a separate tunnel that comes out at 63rdrive. you can see the bellmouth from the east end of the station.the eastern bellmouth HAS track,3rd rail& signals beyond the concrete wall.i,ve seen the "AS BUILT"blueprints on these and have talked to 2 separate sources who were in the eastbound tunnel,where a train used to be layed up before the extension to 67ave was built.this tunnel is at queens blvd.-n- 66th ave. |
