You are making assumptions about 9 car trains that do not exist and still cutting capacity 10%. Just because they once handled 8 67' cars doesn't mean they can handle 9 60' cars where the doors are closer to the ends, and there is no leeway left. Metro Ave would need a complete rebuild.Without having any idea why the R trains run poorly, you are proposing "solutions", including messing up the J train, which already gets stabbed by M trains at Essex and Myrtle Avenue. People do not need another headache of sweating out transfers at Chambers St. Then you want to extend the W, which would replicate the R train's problems. |
