I know all about those problems quite well:What was not said, but should have been obvious is you would only have TWO lines (instead of three) operating via 60th Street. If you can set it up so the (N) skips 49th Street and doesn't have to merge until 57th (and do its merge with the (Q) from the south coming into 57th instead of south of 42nd), it would make things much easier since in this format you would have the (N) to Astoria and the (W) taking over from the (R) to 71-Continental. The (W) would effectively be the (R) in Manhattan and Queens in this format. That is the other part of taking the (R) off Broadway and moving it to Nassau as the pols in Bay Ridge wanted the (R) split. |
