Diagnose the R.It is likely getting delayed by an Astoria-originating train before it enters the tunnel to Manhattan. Terminating at Whitehall accomplishes nothing except it would not magnify the delay south of there. But then Wally wants to mess around with the W and the J, and the W becomes the pre-1987 R, which didn't work either. The J is an innocent by-stander, already regularly stabbed by the precious M at both Essex and Myrtle with merges and overtakes. |
