Or for that matter, I sometimes wonder if the station could have been called "Jamaica-89 Avenues", since there is an entry/exit at 89th Avenue there. Back when the IND was being planned, the provision (now used for the Archer Avenue route) off the main QB route was going to lead into a terminal station to be called "Jamaica & Hillside Avenues". I recall seeing such a station like that in a 1931 Franklin Savings Bank issued subway map that was on display at the Transit Museum for many years.-William A. Padron ["<-85th Av"-<"] |
