Yup...that was suppose to be the "first terminal" for the Van Wyck line to Rockaway Blvd..which was suppose to be built BEFORE the 179th terminal.

Moses stop the construction of the line for his Van Wyck expressway project..even promising the "city" he would place in the road a median for trains to the planned airport..
of course,Moses who he was,never kept his word..instead..he built the roadway to specs that was unfit for rail service.

If the transit route were built.it would have to be elevated..or built under the service roads..

so no Van Wyck subway..until the Archer avenue subway..and the Airtrain.
