Of the total number of murderers, only 5.8% were white. And you know that 5.8% did not all kill the same kind of people. Meanwhile, Blacks accounted for 55.8% of murder suspects. The next highest totals are Hispanics at 25% of victims and 35% for suspects. Last year the NYPD was forced to kill about 7 people. All told, about 333 people were murdered in New York City last year assuming none were killed in the last two days of the year since the article obsiously would not mention them. that's 210 of Salaam's "People". Even if all the people cops shot were black, that's 203 people who were not. 203 people Salaam refuses to care about. All his is worried about is the 7. Last time I checked, 203 is a much bigger number than 7. For every person killed by a cop, 29 Black people were killed by someone else. I feel sad for every single one of them. To call me some of the things people have said just even more heartless. If anything, I'm the one defending them, because some of you can't be bothered. The innocent who have to die because you don't care enough to stop it! Are there People who celebrate when "Nubians" are killed? Probably. Am I one of them? Fuck no. Does that give you the right to suddenly start labeling me a kinsman and a Nazi because someone can't process the proper usage on a word? No it does not. Not in the least bit. |

Those who are engaged in dealing with the scum of the earth tend to form really nasty opinions. For me, it's them fucking Russkies and Chinese along with a good dose of Syrians and Iranians and a few others nearby. BECAUSE of what I know personally, and from family who deals with criminals on a daily basis, the reality is that you get to REALLY dislike those who fuck with you daily "out there" and you *DO* wish them harm. Common refrain from members of my own family and friends? "Bullets are 29 cents each ... nothing would make my day MORE than just walking down the cell and putting one in each and every one of them scumbags" ... THAT is REALITY. Cops in particular live to be white knights ... they separate "good people" from "bad people" and are SO used to dealing with bad people, they stereotype and have some pretty nasty fantasies of "justice" ... fortunately for society, most remain rational and keep that shit under control. SOME DON'T. I know both sides of this equation and the fact is that a cop, if they crack, will shoot first and ask questions later because they genuinely believe that you're a scumbag until proven otherwise. That's just how it is. |

Reality therefore ... being a cop is a TOUGH job. It messes with your life. You see the worst of the worst, day in and day out. Cops have family problems too when the shit gets to them. Fact is, a lot of cops shouldn't have made it through the academy and if they had it together when they came out, the job often catches up with them.Cops make mistakes. Goes with the territory. But the bottom line is that most cops are right of center, get attitudes towards those they serve and some of them just totally lose it. And it happens WAY too often. If we want to solve the problem, police need to establish more credibility in the neighborhoods they serve. The shit I'm reading here is absolutely NOT going to help. Outreach, education, and just simple cooperation is needed. And none of what I'm reading here is going to do shit about that and so more people are going to die without any reason for it. :( |

They don't tell me what happened, or where, or how. Third, some of these might have been, and one was, committing actions that would allow anyone to be justifiable in shooting them. Sean Bell and his buddies used their car to physically attack a BLACK police officer. It wasn't questionable circumstances, the guy died because he did something incredibly stupid, and tried to kill someone. If someone is driving towards you with intent to hurt you, and you, Salaam, have a gun, you can start firing. that is justifiable. And if just 24 in a span of 25 years can be shown, that's not much to work with. |
