It doesn't harm any member one bit. Yes you are right I am not a member of the NYTM. I do however, am a member of several other museums, where they do ask to keep info to ourselves, and occasionally the info does get out and I do not get upset, because I still get my first crack at the events. Perhaps when/if you regress to our level of maturity (or stop acting childish yourself, whichever you prefer), you'll understand why people who pay for certain perks get upset when the benefits those perks are supposed to provide are denied or hampered. If you don't like the perks or want to question their rationale, call the NYTM or write them a letter. Or better yet, become a museum member, support the museum and its fantrips and other programs, and perhaps you'll understand our perspective on the issue. And after a year, if you don't feel the way I do, just don't renew your membership. In the meantime, cut it out. |

I do my best to avoid threads that Paul starts, though occasionally I accidentally stumble on one, and his behavior is constant. I don't think I miss anything by not reading what he posts or seeing his photos. Perhaps it is my loss, but I'm fairly certain it is actually my gain, and not a slight one at that. |

One of the privledges and perks that comes with my museum membership is that I get to find out about things before the general public, and I get to sign up for them before the general public. People on this board (and in life in general) are often craving to be the first to know something or to find out information no one else has. Same goes here. Tony also gave a good explanation. For the umpteenth time, why don't you ask the NYTM, which made the request that the info not be posted to the internet, instead of asking me?There are plenty of MTA employees who are members of the museum. Just because you are an employee who can attend events for free is not a good reason to not be a member of the museum if you support its work. And you certainly have no place criticizing the wishes and desires of those who do pay to be members. |

Back in the day when I went to college, seniors got to register for classes first, followed by juniors and so on. Some majors even gave students in that major pre-registration privileges. You could not register before your time yet everyone knew the schedule. It made no difference if we knew when the pre-registration period opened, we simply could not register before our scheduled date.So what difference does it really make if everyone knows the Transit Museum schedule? Members still get first dibs on tickets. Any non members calling will be told to call back in a week or two when public reservations are being taken. It isn't as if you are competing for reserved seating.... The first five callers do not get the railfan window :) |

No when he made his posts they were generally accurate on some of the things, but from my observation is that what made the flames he started was more the way he would treat people and what he would say and how he said it.
