I think the whole secrecy thing is overblown. Probably what the TM does not want is to be inundated by phone calls from the general public before the open reservation period begins. Likewise I am sure they do not want members calling before the membership reservation period begins. It's not like they have a dedicated 1-800 reservation line to handle these calls 24/7.Once the membership reservation period begins it really does not matter if they public knows about it or not. Members will still get priority so it makes no difference if you are the first member to call or the 100th. The museum staff probably does not want to field dozens of non-member calls only to tell them to call back another day. They can always outsource their reservation system to India :) Then again considering how Indian trains are overbooked - perhaps not.... |
