You can't justify the expense of electrification to Speonk. Yes, Mastic-Shirley could use more service, but that demand could be met with a more liberal amount of diesels. And if you electrify Port Jefferson, you can run more dual modes out of Speonk for peak service needs.

Speonk is a tiny yard, not suited for electric trains.
