I picked up some of your exaggeration within this thread.

a long of blue-collar folk that want to save money on gas would take the railroad there

it's also a place where a lot of blue collar workers (who do make up a lot of the Ronkonkoma branches ridership during the peak hours already) who would take the new service live.

Riverhead could be a huge ridership generator

But there's still a significant amount of people in the Hamptons that live there and commute to Manhattan.

It's very significant

And they were all shot down rather quickly. Don't you think?
