Speonk is mostly beyond most commuters, but of course not all. The main attraction for the railroad for it as a terminal is that there's a yard there. I just don't see many "Hamptons commuters" heading to Speonk.

And from an earlier post about what the phrase "Hamptons commuter" means, it is important to discern that, because otherwise it is not ven clear what we are talking about. If a typical Hamptons commuter is, say, like myself two summers ago, who gets on # 2068 at HPA - no way I wanted to take the NYP heat and crowds, that's my ME time, after all! - and heads for a North Fork weekend, and then 'commutes' back on the early Monday AM train out of Greenport, I'm not really the same kind of commuter that one usually thinks of, but a rather different kind of commuter. More like 'the weekender'.
