Tuscarora Almanac – November 20, 2013 – The Book of First Runs

Rockaway Peninsula, Queens, New York
New York City Transit Authority
IND Division

Service on the Rockaway Peninsula section of the IND resumes after having been suspended since the end of October due to Hurricane Sandy. The line is still cut off from the mainland so R-32’s are trucked in from the Queens mainland and lifted by crane onto the elevated structure. Four cars trains of R-32’s will operate between Far Rockaway and Beach 90th Street via Hammel’s Wye. Service will operate every day from 4 AM to 12:30 AM. It will be designated as “H” Rockaway Shuttle.

(Ed. Note. – Kudos to the TA for this move. It reflects the way New York City thinks. We are not going to let a little rainstorm shut down our transit system completely.)
