In the planning stages, cars #1803-1852 were said to go to the IND, while cars #3000-3349 would have gone to the BMT.

Since the BMT Standards car numbers ended at #2899 and the ex-SIRT cars were in the #2900's, it would make sense for the the BMT R-10 car numbers to start at #3000.
