It brings to mid a question I had regarding the Fulton St el in the last few years of BMT operation. The Multis were dedicated to the 14 St line specifically for use on the 14/Fulton rush hour only service but after the rush hour and on weekends, they could have been assigned to the Fulton St el for the regular Lefferts to Rocky Av/E Pky service and the Cs laid up. Instead, the Multis laid up and the Cs were used for off peak service. I never understood why it was done that way when it would have made more sense to keep the Multis on Fulton 24/7 and make up any car service shortfall on the 14 St Line with steels. |
