Well, adding to it is NYC also taking two additional days for a Muslim Holiday in September (though I believe one of those days overlaps with Yom Kippur, so this year it's actually one extra day).It's tricky because NYC schools also I believe have a long-running "gentlemen's agreement" with US Tennis officials not to start the school year until after the scheduled conclusion of the US Open Tennis Championships (I don't know why that can't be changed to where that starts and finishes one week earlier, especially now that it's moved to ESPN). |
